At their April 26, 2023, regular meeting the Board of Trustees voted to ratify the Memorandum of Agreement reached between the Black Gold School Division and ATA Local #8 on April 13, 2023.  More than 700 teachers, substitute teachers, and school administrators (ATA Local #8) ratified the agreement on April 20. 

Highlights of the agreement include: 

• A commitment to teacher professional development support
• Recognition of the increased responsibilities and complexity of the role of principals and assistant principals
• Support for substitute teacher professional development

“The Black Gold School Division and its teachers have a cooperative relationship, and the bargaining process was professional and respectful,” said Cal Monty, Associate Superintendent – Human Resources.
